Signing Ceremonies

In June 2017, on the occasion of the Conference on Sustainable Tourism in the Danube Region, held in Belgrade, Serbia, eight Serbian entities became signatories of the Commitment. The ceremony was held in the presence of UNWTO Secretary-General, Mr. Taleb Rifai.

On 4 October 2017, in the context of the Annual Tourism Board Forum, held in Reykjavik, Iceland, 2 Icelandic Associations, the Iceland Tourism Cluster and The Icelandic Travel Industry Association (SAF), signed the Commitment. The signing was held in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of UNWTO.

Three associations from different countries signed the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, in the context of the 4th Summit of Travel Agencies Associations, held in Valencia, Spain on 1 November 2017. The signing was held in the presence of Mr. Márcio Favilla, UNWTO Executive Director for Operational Programmes and Institutional Relations.

Seven entities from Jordan signed the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on 13 November 2017 in the context of the Regional Conference "Tourism in MENA Cities: Competitiveness for Sustainable Growth" (Amman, Jordan, 13-14 November, 2017). The signing was held in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General.

Seven companies and one association from five different countries signed the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on 17 January 2018 in the context of the International Tourism Fair FITUR (Madrid, Spain 17-21 January 2018). The signing was held in the presence of Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, UNWTO Secretary-General.The entities which took part to the signing ceremony were: Cielos Abiertos (Colombia), Destinos R.I. (Costa Rica), Tradewings Tours & Travel Corp. (Philippines), Turisferr Association, Civitatis,  Intercruises and Vincci Hoteles (Spain) and Concorde De Luxe Resort (Turkey).

Two companies and four association from Israel signed the Private Sector Commitment to the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on 6 February 2018 in the context of the 24rd International Mediterranean Tourism Market – IMTM. The signing was held in the presence of H.E. Mr. Yariv Levin, Minister of Tourism of Israel and Mr. Pascal Lamy, Chair of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics.The entities which took part to the signing ceremony were: Israel Hotel Association (IHA), Israel Incoming Tour Operators Association, Israel Tour Guide Association, "Moreshet Derach" - the Tourist Guide Union for Incoming Tourism to Israel, ORTRA - Professional Conference Organizers (PCOs) & Destination Management Company’s (DMC) and the Tel Aviv Convention Center.
