During the 16th World Committee on Tourism Ethics, Mr. Henri Giscard d'Estaing, President of Club Méditerranée and Mr. Hiran Cooray, Chairman of Sri Lankan company Jetwing Hotels signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics, in Paris, France, on 16 November 2015.

On the occasion of the FITUR 2016 International Tourism Faireight Spanish companies signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics, in Madrid, Spain, on 20 Janauary 2016.

Two Swedish associations, Visita - Swedish Hospitality Industry and Svensk Turism ABsigned the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism during the Sweden's Hospitality Industry Congress, held in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 16 March 2016.

During the 3rd Meeting of the Turkic Council Ministers of Tourism, 11 associations and companies from Azerbaijan, Kazahkstan, Kygrystan and Turkey signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, in Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan, on 7 June 2016.

Five Sri Lankan companies signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on the occassion of the UNWTO Conference on "Tourism: A Catalyst for Development, Peace and Reconciliation" in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General, Mr. John Amaratunga, Sri Lankan Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs and Lands and Mr. Hiran Cooray, Member of the World Committee on Tourism Ethics. The ceremony was held in Passikudah, Sri Lanka on 13 July 2016.

Seven Slovenian companies signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism on the occassion of the Bled Strategic Forum in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General and Mr. Zdravko Pocivalsek, Minister of Economic Development and Technology of Slovenia. The ceremony was held in Bled, Slovenia on 6 September 2016.

Nine Spanish companies signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism in Valencia, Spain, in the presence of Mr. Marcio Favilla, UNWTO Executive Director, Mr. Ximo Puid, President of the Community of Valencia, and Mr. Francesc Colomer, Secretary of the Valencian Tourism Agency. The ceremony was held at the Valencian Tourism Center on 14 December 2016.

Nine companies from different countries in Latin America and Europe signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism in FITUR Madrid, Spain, in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General andMr. Luis Garcia, General Director of Europamundo Vacaciones. The ceremony was held at the FITUR stand of Europamundo Vacaciones on 19 January 2017.

On 2 February 2017 the legal director of Viajes El Corte Inglés, Mr. Juan Luis Vassallo Saavedra, signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics at UNWTO headquarters in Madrid, Spainin the presence of UNWTO Secretary-General Mr. Taleb Rifai.

On the occasion of the official visit of UNWTO Secretary-General to Portugal, five Portuguese companies signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics in Madeira on 8 February 2017.

On the occasion of the 3rd Euro-Asian Mountain Resorts Conference, in Tbilisi, Georgia, eight Georgian entities signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics on 4 April 2017 in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General.

On the occasion of the 3rd International Congress on Ethics and Tourism, in Krakow, Poland, five Polish entities and one global company signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics on 28 April 2017 in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General, and Mr. Dawid Lasek, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Poland.

On the occasion of the Annual Summit of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) whcih was held in Negombo, Sri Lanka, on 19-20 May 2017, the Asia-based company  Triip.me signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General, and Mr. Mario Hardy, Chief Executive Officer of PATA.

On the occasion of UNWTO Masterclass on "Attracting Chinese Tourism to the Mediterranean Countries" which was held in Valletta, Maltasix Maltese entities signed the Private Sector Commitment to the Global Code of Ethics on 24 May 2017 in the presence of Mr. Taleb Rifai, UNWTO Secretary-General.
