Tourism and Gender Portal
The Tourism and Gender Portal will create a global reference point on tourism and gender, providing resources, information, and a space for awareness-raising and dialogue. The overall aim of the Portal is to contribute to the improvement of women’s role in tourism worldwide, by providing a global forum for exchanging information and ideas.
Sections of the Tourism and Gender Portal
The Tourism and Gender Portal will have five main sections:
- Awareness-raising and Communication
- Good Practices
- Training and Empowerment
- Networking
- Research and Resources
The Portal is currently still in a conceptual phase, and will be developed after the pilot of the Women in Tourism Empowerment Programme (WITEP) has been carried out, subject to securing external funding.
